The city by the bay is actually a varied compilation of unique neighborhoods with character and vistas that are vastly different, not to mention micro-climates. One neighborhood can be generally warm and sunny for most of the year (SOMA and South Beach) and another can be cloudy and cold for a large part of the year (Ocean Beach). I can always tell someone is new to the city when they talk about finding a place near the beach. San Francisco is not Santa Monica.
